Physically being able to hold rocks and minerals in your hands to test and observe their physical properties is critical to any Earth Sciences course.
As such, our department staff and summer students have created these kits to ensure that you have the best possible online learning experience.
The kits are MANDATORY for No classes this term.
These kits are available to loan only for students currently enrolled at Western University in the aforementioned courses. These kits are not available to other students or the general public.

Description
These kits are available – to loan only – for students currently enrolled at Western University in the following courses:

These kits are not available to other students or the general public.
In order TO LOAN these kits, a $125 refundable deposit plus $25 non-refundable processing and handling fee is required ($150 total).
To receive the full $125 refund of your deposit upon kit return, this kit must be returned in comparable condition to which it was received. See the Refund Policy for more details.
Deposits will be refunded to the credit card that made the deposit after the kit has been inspected for completeness and any damages.
Damages to the kit will be charged accordingly. Please see the information letter provided in your kit for more details.
Kits will be distributed on the date of your first lab period. If you miss your first lab period, you can email the curator Alysha McNeil (amcnei22@uwo.ca) to schedule a kit pickup time.

This kit contains rocks, minerals, and testing equipment for undergraduate educational purposes. Misuse of these materials may cause bodily harm. Some examples of misuse include but are not limited to: ingestion of kit materials, or allowing small children to play with kit materials. Small samples may pose a choking hazard to small children.
Important Notes
- Kit materials are safe as long as used as intended. Keep away from small children.
